A market and livestock fair used to be held on the main street. In the vicinity are historic sites such as: Sess Kilgreen, a fine-chambered tomb similar to those found throughout Western Europe.
A breathtaking view of the area can be seen from nearby Errigal Keerogue. Here are the ruins of St Kieranâ€™s Church with its very early cross. The church is said to date from 1489 and was a Franciscan foundation.
