Mini Mud Madness

Northern Ireland's most popular Off Road Adventure race for the younger generation

The McVities Jaffa Cakes Mini Mud Madness event is Northern Ireland’s most popular Off Road Adventure race for the younger generation .

The event has two age group waves. The first is for those aged 6-11 years old and is over a 1km course which takes participants over , under and through a selection of obstacles, some man made and some that are just naturally very muddy very and wet.

The second wave is for those aged 12-16 years old and is over a 2km course which is equally muddy and wet. The course is by far the muddiest one in Ireland which is why the kids love it . The course is manageable to all those who have a basic level of fitness . The event attracts a wide range of participants from the super fit athlete through to those who are simply looking for a challenge for themselves or with their friends.

WHAT TO WEAR. No football boots or spikes are to be worn on the course please. We would advise you to wear normal flat-soled training shoes or trail shoes. The best footwear is a pair of old trainers with nice tight laces. We would advise competitors to arrive in the clothing they intend to wear racing and bring a change of clothes, towel and some bin bags for the trip home. Cotton clothing is not advisable to race in as it will retain water from the ponds as you work through the rest of the course. Most competitors – if not in fancy dress! – opt for a base-layer style top and running shorts or leggings. Please change out of your wet clothes as soon as possible after you finish your event as many competitors find they get cold very quickly. You will receive your event t-shirt when you collect your pack. Please do not leave your muddy clothes and shoes by the roadside – we provide bins on site that you can use. SHOWERS/CHANGING/TOILETS/STORAGE/CLOTHING. There will be a number of toilets on site. Changing facilities are very limited and basic (marquees / tents). There are no bespoke showers, although as with previous years we will provide a basic system to help competitors wash off any excess dirt and mud. There will be a marquee in which you can leave your bags but we as organisers are unable to accept responsibility for any belongings or valuables which you leave in the marquee. We would advise you not to bring valuables to the event.
